Click here to ehis is an Environmental art installation dedicated to thousands of Albatross dying in Midway island lost in the pacific ocean and is inspired by Chris Jordan's film. On Midway Atoll, a remote cluster of islands more than 2000 miles from the nearest continent, the detritus of our mass consumption surfaces in an astonishing place: inside the stomachs of thousands of dead baby albatrosses. The nesting chicks are fed lethal quantities of plastic by their parents, who mistake the floating trash for food as they forage over the vast polluted Pacific Ocean.
This is a worldwide art installation titled 'Fallen Angels' and organized by Ka Yee Lam and Ajesh in collaboration with school kids and people from various walks of life around the globe . This project is designed to enlighten the younger generation to be aware of the damage we are causing to this planet. The mass consumption and destruction of natural resources is leading this beautiful planet to "Nature free, Man only" one!!! The support we received from our friends and others from countries like Cyprus, United states, Nigeria and so on was overwhelming. We encouraged them to create these chalk drawings with plastic waste inside. There are many more images coming in in various other parts like India, China, Australia and so on. We would like to show these images in this exhibition. Moreover, during this event we will be inviting students from local and international school around the city to make such drawings, and images from around the globe will be displayed. We are hoping to conduct an art and theater workshop based on plastic waste during this installation period. As mentioned above we have encouraged not only students but also on lookers to be part of this humble effort. It’s a Community Art Installation and initiation of two artists, Chloe Lam and Ajesh Kumar Suresh.dit.
